Biography

Rev. Comfort Bedell Dahn is a distinguished Liberian clergywoman, educator, administrator, and advocate for women and children whose life has been marked by dedicated service to the church, education, community development, and national leadership. Born on September 6, 1956, in Monrovia, she has spent decades contributing meaningfully to both the public and private sectors of Liberia while nurturing countless lives spiritually and academically.

A committed Christian and respected family woman, Rev. Dahn is known not only for her professional accomplishments but also for her compassion, mentorship, and commitment to raising biological, spiritual, and foster children. Her life reflects a deep passion for service, leadership, and empowerment.

Education

Rev. Dahn began her educational journey at Monrovia Demonstration High School where she completed her elementary education under the leadership of Principal Mrs. Rebecca Wilson. She later attended B. W. Harris High School from 1967 to 1971, where Mr. Emmanuel Johnson served as Principal and Mr. J. Wado Bedell as Vice Principal.

She continued her secondary education at College of West Africa between 1972 and 1976 under the administration of Mrs. Cecelia Freeman Bull, earning her High School Diploma. Following graduation, she enrolled at the Lincoln Institute of Secretarial Science where she studied Secretarial Science as an elective.

Determined to further her academic pursuits, Rev. Dahn later enrolled at University of Liberia and reached the sophomore level before temporarily discontinuing her studies due to personal circumstances. Her passion for learning, however, remained steadfast.

Years later, she pursued theological and religious studies at The United Methodist University, where in 2009 she earned both a Bachelor of Theology (B.Th.) and a Bachelor of Religious Education (BRE). She subsequently enrolled in the graduate program at the Kofi Annan Graduate School of the University of Liberia between 2012 and 2014 as a candidate for a master’s degree.

Experience

Rev. Dahn’s professional career began with employment at the Fawaz Trading Company where she worked as an expediter and bookkeeper. She later joined the J. J. Roberts family institution as a teacher’s aide under Principal Mrs. Stella Boyou, who recognized her exceptional potential and sponsored her training at the American Cooperative School in Early Childhood Education.

At the American Cooperative School, she received professional training and participated in several workshops that strengthened her expertise in early childhood education. Upon completion of her training, she rose to become Supervisor of the Early Childhood Section at the United Methodist School on 12th Street, Sinkor.

Following the 1980 political transition in Liberia, Rev. Dahn joined the School of Prime System (SPS), where she served for many years and again rose to the position of Supervisor for the Early Childhood Section. Her commitment to education and child development earned her admiration among colleagues and students alike.

She also served within the Monrovia Consolidated School System, first at Monrovia Demonstration High School and later at Slipway School under Principal Mrs. Perkins. During this period, she was an active member of the National Teachers Association and served as Program Officer under Rev. Rudolph Marsh.

In 1991, Rev. Dahn founded Christiana Bedell Preparatory School, where she has continued to serve as Founder, Organizer, and Proprietress. Through this institution, she has impacted the lives of numerous young Liberians by promoting quality education, discipline, and moral instruction.
